David Toms, 2001 PGA Champion!
Home

At some point in time, I'll have to describe some of the putters I have seen "up close and personal" that David has used. Over the years, I have seen David play at Bay Hill in Orlando, during Arnie's tournament.

Many of you may know that David Toms won the 2001 PGA Championship with a Scotty Cameron Studio 1 model. In fact, the putter was absolutely dead stock, meaning it was just like you or I could buy at out local Titleist dealer.

What you may not know is that David has been a loyal Scotty Cameron supporter and player for some time. Well before he was a consistent money winner.

This putter certainly proves that fact! This is an "S. Cameron," pre-Titleist model. This putter has David's initials in the toe, and is similar to many of the models Scotty has made for David over the years. I really considered myself lucky to find it, because:

1. It's an early pre-Titleist (1994).

2. It has the LARGE dancing letters! Notice the "O" has fallen, and can't get up! This dates the vintage of the putter to about a 6 month period before the Titleist merger. Scotty went to the large stamps for better visibility. I talk about this in the book I co-authored on Cameron.

3. The Cameron crown is nicely displayed on the back.

4. Finally, it's a S. Cameron. Maybe rarer than a handmade Scott Cameron.
